Just a quickie to show an update of mumzy's birthday blanket (which may well become mumzy's christmas blanket!) I'm still loving making these cute little flowers, although now I 'get' why people join as they go. It's going to take me just as long to sew all the ends in the back as it has making the blanket! Never mind, that's experience for you. The granny stripe did come a little further along but is now in the process of being stripped back because I didn't like the colour combos. Again, experience. I am also looking for a pretty flower motif that I can sew on to my daughters' curtains. They are rather plain - too plain for me! I'll post an update when I'm done.
On the life front, uni work is pretty much consuming every waking minute. Sometimes I wish I went into a subject that is a little more arty. But then I think would I want to be creative if I had to be creative? Most of the things I make are spontaneous. If I had to complete projects I may well feel a little restricted. Or perhaps not. We'll never know. I do enjoy psychology though. Even if it sometimes makes my head hurt!

Oh wow that is one gorgeous blanket. I am sure Mumzy will love it. x
I really love the way your colors radiate out from the center of that blanket, while retaining the same / similar outer shade. Very nice! And you will not regret changing your granny stripes now - the only thing worse than frogging work in the middle of a blanket, when you realize the colors just aren't doing it for you, is finishing it and not being pleased. Keep up the lovely work!
What a lovely blanket! Wonderful colours. I do join as I go, and that saves me for a lot of bouring work. But I have to admit that it looks nicer when it's sewed together whit a needle..
Oh it really is looking Stunning!!!!
I agree with Erica, I just love the way the colours radiate as well you have done an amazing job at selecting your yarn :)
A big WOW for the blanket. Just beautiful!
Gorgeous, i have a pile of African Flowers you have inspired me to return to them, although like you wish I had sewn together as I went along!
Blanket is absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished.
Beautiful colours! I think you've just helped me move the african flowers up my making list:)) its making my fingers itch looking at all that lovely colourful crochet goodness!
Hello Terrie!
Thank you for visiting my blog! I really like how your African Flower blankie is coming along - I haven't yet had a go at making any of these but every time I see them I know that I should!

You've done a wonderful job with this pattern and the colors are really great.
I know exactly what you mean about sewing the pieces together - it took me nearly as long to do the same when I made a bedspread for my daughter. In fact, tidying up the threads is another mammoth task that I really hate doing, but someone's gotta do it!
WOW...what a great Blanket!
Love the Colours.
Many Greetings,
Marion
